Job Title: Hydrovac Operator

At Magnum Cementing Services, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our team. As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydro excavation equipment, ensuring the successful completion of projects and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate hydrovac equipment in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for operation, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections, following Magnum's policies and procedures for routine maintenance.
  • Safely and efficiently load and chain down equipment for transport, adhering to load securement and hours of service regulations.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines, including daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, timesheets, etc.
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are in a clean state and operating properly.
Qualifications:
  • Class 3 or 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum one-year hydrovac operating experience.
  • Knowledge of basic underground utilities.
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Willing to travel for assignments, for up to two weeks at a time. Accommodations will be provided.
  • Able to work overtime and travel.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Worked in a similar environment (shop sites, remote locations).
  • Knowledge of Federal Hours of Service.
  • Paperwork and computer skills as well as the ability to make timely submissions.
  • Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and have the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Understands the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused.
  • Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.
