Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will deliver exceptional customer service to students purchasing items from the Campus Store.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing daily transactions using a Point of Sale system for cash and credit card sales, ensuring the security of cash and float.
  • Providing customer assistance by responding to inquiries via phone and in-person, locating books and supplies, and managing special orders.
  • Updating the supervisor on inventory levels for essential items and checking the expiration dates of perishable goods.
  • Supporting short-term cashiers with Point of Sale operations.
  • Handling refunds for merchandise while adhering to established Campus Store policies.
  • Processing financial deferments as per Campus Store guidelines.
  • Maintaining cleanliness at cash counters and organizing merchandise displays.
  • Participating in bi-annual physical inventory counts.
  • Assisting with various Campus Store events and activities as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Previous cash handling experience in a fast-paced retail environment is essential.
  2. Familiarity with Bookware and Point of Sale training is advantageous.
  3. Proficient understanding of cash register operations and credit sales systems.
  4. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  5. Strong customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Exemplary integrity, tact, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  7. Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
