About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students with special needs in our elementary and secondary schools. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers to deliver daily programs and provide care for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing Board-approved programs, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and academic and behavioural programs.
  • Support students with special needs, including those with Down Syndrome, Autism, and behavioural concerns.
  • Provide care for students requiring Total Care, including toileting, feeding, lifting, and diapering.
  • Work as a team member to adapt to changing situations and cope with stressful situations.
Requirements
  • Community College Educational Support Diploma or related field of study.
  • Minimum of one year of experience supporting individuals with special needs.
  • Proven ability to work as a team member, with high sensitivity and diplomacy.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $27.84 per hour, as per the Collective Agreement. As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to provide an original Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six months.
