Culinary Excellence at PARC Retirement Living

We are seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our team at Mulberry PARC in Burnaby. As a key member of our Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional dining experience for our residents and guests.

About the Role

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing meals according to our established menus, with attention to artistic plating, proper portions, and safe food-handling procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen and workspace.
  • Receiving deliveries and safely storing, labelling, and rotating food to prevent spoilage.
  • Providing creative input on regular and special-event menus.
  • Supporting the Chef de Cuisine by stepping in to lead the culinary team as needed and conducting kitchen audits.
  • Assisting kitchen cleaning, including equipment, countertops, and the beverage centre.
  • Monitoring resident satisfaction by talking with residents in the dining room.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A culinary diploma or equivalent, plus at least two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Red Seal training and certification are a strong asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications.
  • CPR and First Aid certification would be a bonus.
  • A flair for creative food preparation and experience with portion control, menus, and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding and respect for the needs of seniors, their families, and the professionals engaged in their care.

Immunization Requirement

We require all new hires to be fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada.
