**Job Summary**

Volker Stevin Contracting is seeking a skilled Tractor Backhoe Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a tractor backhoe, performing duties as assigned and ensuring that work is delivered according to contract specifications.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the tractor backhoe.
  • Operate the tractor backhoe to utilize both the front bucket and back boom for a variety of functions, including piling of aggregates, bringing small material to the work area, excavation of utilities or new installations, and tamping around installation features.
  • Conduct trench work that meets Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisory personnel as required in the work area.
  • Operate on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of your surroundings.

**Technical Requirements**

  • Knowledge of tractor backhoes and other heavy equipment operations.
  • Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.

**Ideal Candidate**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of tractor-backhoe experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Operators License with a clean Driver Abstract.
