Job Overview:

The Wealth Management Consultant is tasked with collaborating with TD advisors to provide tailored, high-value guidance on taxation, retirement, estate, and comprehensive wealth planning for High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT RELATIONS

  1. Exhibit our dedication to a client-focused approach by ensuring an exceptional Client Planning Experience in every interaction to enhance retention and growth.
  2. Offer expert retirement, tax, and estate planning assistance and solutions to eligible clients of TD Wealth. Independently create customized wealth plans promptly based on data gathered from relationship managers/advisors.
  3. Conduct independent research to address all critical client issues (retirement, tax, estate planning) and stay updated on relevant wealth planning advancements.
  4. Engage in client meetings and facilitate educational seminars as required.

SHAREHOLDER VALUE

  1. Design, recommend, and execute strategies to deliver top-tier HNW planning solutions to bolster PWM growth.
  2. Provide HNW Planning solutions in compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
  3. Identify, introduce, and follow up on opportunities for complementary services and solutions.
  4. Implement TD Wealth's high net worth strategy effectively.
  5. Assist advisors and relationship managers in business development, opportunity identification, and revenue generation.
  6. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and reflects the client's intentions while adhering to relevant regulations.
  7. Maintain high service levels to maximize profitability, minimize costs, and manage business risks to protect TD Bank's reputation.
  8. Regularly track and report on the outcomes of wealth plans delivered and new business generated.
  9. Develop and implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire, and retain clients, enhancing profitability and supporting business growth.
  10. Promote and provide a comprehensive suite of tax and estate products, services, and banking capabilities.
  11. Safeguard TD Bank's interests by identifying and managing risks, escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions as necessary.
  12. Propose and actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
  13. Manage relationships across businesses to ensure alignment with TD Bank and regulatory standards.
  14. Stay informed on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess their potential impacts.
  15. Support corporate responsibility and community engagement through charitable involvement.

TEAM CONTRIBUTION

  1. Actively participate as a team member, fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork while ensuring timely communication of relevant issues.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with investment advisors and relationship managers, as well as their leaders within TD Wealth Management.
  3. Provide thought leadership and industry expertise in your area of specialization and engage in knowledge sharing within the team and business unit.
  4. Stay current on emerging trends and developments, enhancing your understanding of the business and related tools.
  5. Engage in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training within your team.
  6. Contribute to team skill development through mentorship, sharing knowledge, and leveraging best practices.
  7. Lead and cultivate relationships with internal and external partners to foster productive collaborations.
  8. Promote a fair, positive, and equitable workplace that supports a diverse workforce.
  9. Serve as a brand ambassador for TD Bank, both internally and externally.

EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE

  1. Recognized as a specialist in tax and comprehensive wealth planning.
  2. Provide expert advice to senior management in your field; may lead teams of related specialists.
  3. Operate within general policies and industry guidelines.
  4. Engage stakeholders to take action; serve as a source of expert advice, influence change, and frame information within a broader organizational context.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. Advanced professional degree (CA or LL.B/JD).
  3. Certified financial planning designation is an asset (CFP, Pl. Fin, etc.).
  4. Expertise in taxation and holistic financial planning.
  5. Completion of the In-depth Tax course, levels 1 & 2 or a Master's in Tax is a strong asset.
  6. A minimum of 10 years of practical experience.
