Job Overview:
The Wealth Management Consultant is tasked with collaborating with TD advisors to provide tailored, high-value guidance on taxation, retirement, estate, and comprehensive wealth planning for High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CLIENT RELATIONS
- Exhibit our dedication to a client-focused approach by ensuring an exceptional Client Planning Experience in every interaction to enhance retention and growth.
- Offer expert retirement, tax, and estate planning assistance and solutions to eligible clients of TD Wealth. Independently create customized wealth plans promptly based on data gathered from relationship managers/advisors.
- Conduct independent research to address all critical client issues (retirement, tax, estate planning) and stay updated on relevant wealth planning advancements.
- Engage in client meetings and facilitate educational seminars as required.
SHAREHOLDER VALUE
- Design, recommend, and execute strategies to deliver top-tier HNW planning solutions to bolster PWM growth.
- Provide HNW Planning solutions in compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Identify, introduce, and follow up on opportunities for complementary services and solutions.
- Implement TD Wealth's high net worth strategy effectively.
- Assist advisors and relationship managers in business development, opportunity identification, and revenue generation.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate and reflects the client's intentions while adhering to relevant regulations.
- Maintain high service levels to maximize profitability, minimize costs, and manage business risks to protect TD Bank's reputation.
- Regularly track and report on the outcomes of wealth plans delivered and new business generated.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire, and retain clients, enhancing profitability and supporting business growth.
- Promote and provide a comprehensive suite of tax and estate products, services, and banking capabilities.
- Safeguard TD Bank's interests by identifying and managing risks, escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions as necessary.
- Propose and actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships across businesses to ensure alignment with TD Bank and regulatory standards.
- Stay informed on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess their potential impacts.
- Support corporate responsibility and community engagement through charitable involvement.
TEAM CONTRIBUTION
- Actively participate as a team member, fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork while ensuring timely communication of relevant issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with investment advisors and relationship managers, as well as their leaders within TD Wealth Management.
- Provide thought leadership and industry expertise in your area of specialization and engage in knowledge sharing within the team and business unit.
- Stay current on emerging trends and developments, enhancing your understanding of the business and related tools.
- Engage in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training within your team.
- Contribute to team skill development through mentorship, sharing knowledge, and leveraging best practices.
- Lead and cultivate relationships with internal and external partners to foster productive collaborations.
- Promote a fair, positive, and equitable workplace that supports a diverse workforce.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for TD Bank, both internally and externally.
EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE
- Recognized as a specialist in tax and comprehensive wealth planning.
- Provide expert advice to senior management in your field; may lead teams of related specialists.
- Operate within general policies and industry guidelines.
- Engage stakeholders to take action; serve as a source of expert advice, influence change, and frame information within a broader organizational context.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree.
- Advanced professional degree (CA or LL.B/JD).
- Certified financial planning designation is an asset (CFP, Pl. Fin, etc.).
- Expertise in taxation and holistic financial planning.
- Completion of the In-depth Tax course, levels 1 & 2 or a Master's in Tax is a strong asset.
- A minimum of 10 years of practical experience.
