The Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) team is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Nurse to join our team as an EMS Offload Nurse. This role is responsible for managing the transition of patients from initial transport to the Emergency Department stretcher.
Key Responsibilities- Offload patients to a designated waiting area and reassess their condition until ED staff assume care.
- Implement medical directives to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Conduct regular reassessments of the waiting room to monitor patient status and report findings back to the triage nurse.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Certification)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ENC (c) (Emergency Nurse Certification (C)anada)
- eCATS (Canadian Triage Acuity Scale)
- Other Emergency & Critical Care Education
MAHC has two locations to meet Muskoka's healthcare needs. You could find yourself working at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) or Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH).
