GeoTechnical / Civil Engineer EIT

We are seeking a highly skilled GeoTechnical / Civil Engineer EIT to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for applying your skills in surface mine civil infrastructure design and geotechnical support.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop geotechnical designs for mine pit walls, overburden disposal areas, and material stockpile designs.
- Develop and execute surveillance plans for new and existing operating mine areas.
- Engage in risk management and stewardship activities for supported structures.
- Support Operations organization in construction and execution of designed structures.
- Coordinate with third-party geotechnical lab on materials testing, testing priority, and budget management.
- Coordinate with core lab to ensure proper workflow, testing/sampling, and application of facies descriptions.
- Support geotechnical design, surveillance, and reporting for Kearl's tailing structures and dykes.
- Generate haul road and equipment maintenance pad designs for 400t haul trucks and electric cable shovels, including generating engineering drawing packages and construction execution packages.
We are looking for a new graduate from a geological/geotechnical, civil, or mining engineering undergraduate university program with up to 3 years of relevant industry experience in related work scopes.
Occasional trips to the Kearl Mine Site, including overnight stays in camp, will be required. Possibility to provide vacation coverage for Geotechnical Field Engineers.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience- Experience in completing slope stability analysis. Experience with GeoStudio Suite of programs such as Slope/W and Seep/W is an added benefit.
