About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Procurement Specialist to join our team at CO_65 Bird Industrial Management Services Ltd. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of electrical procurement processes and a proven track record of delivering results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the buying process for electrical goods and materials, ensuring compliance with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Provide technical and commercial assistance to Buyers to develop awareness of vendor manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge.
  • Create technical Scope of Work Documents or review Technical Scope of Work documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Balance tactical executions with strategic initiatives to drive cost reduction projects.
  • Actively participate in supplier performance reviews and ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers, utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
  • Resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Stay current and up-to-date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials, advising others of any impact.
Requirements
  • SCMP designation or registered in the SCMP program would be an asset, or
  • Professional Engineer in the technical field, or
  • Journeyman tradesman with 10+ years of experience, or
  • 5+ years experience working for a major electrical distribution company
  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem identification and solution abilities.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Technically, commercially, and financially aware.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge.
  • A developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
