About the Role: As an Experienced Asphalt Crew Member, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various pieces of equipment, including pavers, rollers, and skid steers. You will also be involved in daily inspections of equipment and completing minor maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain asphalt paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, and skid steers.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and complete minor maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the installation of asphalt pavement, including measuring and marking manholes and water valves.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite as required.
- Work collaboratively with the crew to achieve high-quality results.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to safe working procedures and practices, and report any hazards or incidents to management.
- Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Understand and follow Alberta Transportation Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 license.
- Experience with asphalt processes and work site hazards.
- Knowledge of Hot and Cold Mix Asphalt mixes and their properties.
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including overtime, weekends, and out-of-town work.
