BC Cancer is seeking a dedicated General Practitioner in Oncology to become a vital part of its esteemed Vernon Oncology team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, situated in the picturesque Southern Interior Region of British Columbia.
Reporting directly to the Department Head of Medical Oncology at BC Cancer – Kelowna, the successful candidate will collaborate with a supportive and established group of Medical Oncologists and General Practitioners in Oncology, contributing to a broader network of professionals regionally and provincially, which fosters exceptional opportunities for professional development and networking.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with a team of specialized medical oncologists and allied health professionals, focusing exclusively on the care of oncology patients.
- Engage in the treatment and follow-up of patients, including both curative and palliative care planning.
- Participate in clinical trials as opportunities present themselves.
This position is funded for a maximum of 1.0 FTE; however, flexibility exists to accommodate multiple candidates interested in part-time, permanent roles. Various service contract and salary options are available.
Qualifications- Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (FRCP, FRCS, or CCFP).
- Eligibility for appointment to the medical staff of BC Cancer and Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
- Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
- Experience in inpatient and oncology settings is advantageous but not mandatory; BC Cancer will provide comprehensive training, including both virtual didactic sessions and in-clinic instruction.
