Job Title: Computer Network Technician

We are seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Travlink Employment Consulting and Travel Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating access and use of computer networks, installing software, and maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks
  • Install software
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade web server hardware and software
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance
  • Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts
  • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
Requirements:
  • VMware certified professional
  • Knowledge of virtualization, MAC, Linux, networking software, networking hardware, networking security, extranet, intranet, Internet, servers, desktop applications, file management software, security software, image editing software, project management software, HTML editing software, website creation and management software, web service design, business diagram software, desktop publishing software, information technology, SharePoint, database software, programming languages, software development, data analysis software, MS Office, MS Windows, firewall, MS Active Directory, social media
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure. The work will involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and the candidate will be required to have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
