Background Vista Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Background Vista Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of visual composition, lighting design, and color theory, with the ability to create stunning 3D and matte painted backgrounds that bring our game worlds to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop pre-visualized vista concept mockups to interpret art direction and ensure consistency with the game's visual style.
  • Translate written and verbal direction into visually stunning solutions that meet the game's narrative and gameplay requirements.
  • Generate skies, terrain, and materials in various content creation software, sculpt and layout assets based on art direction and concepts.
  • Collaborate with art direction and design to ensure concepts meet gameplay and visual expectations.
  • Create 3D assets, digital matte paintings, and image projection that exceed expectations.
  • Ability to overcome visual and technical challenges with creative solutions.
  • Work within established production deadlines to deliver high-quality results.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in video game production and/or film production.
  • Ability to create, manipulate 3D and 2.5D elements to complement matte painted midgrounds and backgrounds.
  • Expertise in visual composition and lighting design.
  • Deep understanding of color, tone, and lighting.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling.
  • Highly collaborative individual who values feedback and direction.
  • UE5 knowledge is an asset.
Compensation:

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50 to $56 per hour, based on factors including education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
