Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist to join our multidisciplinary team in the energy sector. As a Senior Hydrologist, you will be responsible for working on hydrology and hydraulic structures, river and coastal development projects, and conducting studies related to river hydraulics. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including hydroelectric production, flood protection, transportation, wildlife development, and port development. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, enabling you to work from home and from one of our offices in the Montreal, Quebec City, or Eastern Townships regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrological studies, determine design flows, and perform hydrogeomorphology and sediment transport studies.
- Model and simulate the hydraulics of watercourses and hydraulic installations using specialized software.
- Design hydraulic installations, including spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, and penstocks.
- Carry out dam safety studies and assess the impact of climate change on various infrastructures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary coordination and take charge of clients, projects, or batches.
- Write and check technical reports and contribute to the development of plans and specifications.
- Participate in the preparation of service agreements.
Requirements
- University Degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Master's Degree in hydrology or hydraulics with academic training in modeling (an asset).
- Experience in hydrogeomorphology (an asset).
- Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- More than ten (10) years of experience in the field of river and/or coastal hydraulics.
- Fluency in spoken and written French.
- Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects.
