About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Software Engineer to join our team at Canadian Solar. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) capable of ultra-fast response to dispatch commands and grid supply variations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of BESS plant controllers, ensuring they meet technical requirements and are commissioned on time.
  • Mentor and supervise team members to ensure high-quality deliverables and meet timeline and budget commitments.
  • Develop new tools and processes to improve technology, engineering, and delivery value streams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in developing control software with a track record of successful production deployments.
  • Degree in engineering related to our industry (Electrical preferred).
  • Experience with power grid, power generation, and/or renewable integration control.
  • Expertise in model-based control software development.
  • Proficiency in Linux, scripting (Python, Batch), and relationship/time series databases.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and travel up to 25% (including international travel).
