About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at Jay Patry Enterprises LLC. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Planning
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Construction and Installation
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
    • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Project Management
    • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
    • Instruct and supervise apprentices and other workers
    • Estimate costs and materials for projects
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential buildings and wooden structures
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity of buildings
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1-2 years of experience in the trade
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
    • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Equipment and Tools
    • Hand tools and power tools
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
