Key Responsibilities

As a Glass Product Finishing Technician, your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining a shift log of production and relevant data
  • Making necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operations
  • Monitoring gauges, computer printouts, and video displays to confirm processing conditions
  • Recording manufacturing details such as quantity, size, and type of products
  • Setting up and adjusting glass finishing machinery
  • Conducting visual inspections for quality assurance
  • Coating glass with metals and other materials
  • Examining and marking defective glass for optimal cutting
  • Heating, annealing, tempering, or forming glass products
  • Measuring and marking glass accurately
  • Interpreting specifications or following verbal instructions
  • Implementing quality control procedures
