Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various types of buildings, including educational, institutional, commercial, recreational, and multi-residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire protection, and communications systems.
  • Prepare electrical specifications and drawings for projects.
  • Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings to discuss project requirements and progress.
  • Obtain information from equipment suppliers and incorporate it into designs and specifications.
  • Coordinate with utilities and municipalities regarding incoming services.
  • Prepare schematics and project documents, and review shop drawings.
  • Provide technical direction to junior designers and CAD operators.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligible to be registered.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire protection, and communications systems.
  • Extensive skills with AUTOCAD, REVIT, Word, Acrobat & Excel.
  • Familiarity with design requirements for building power, lighting, fire protection, and communications systems, as well as relevant building codes.
