Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wiring Technician to join our team in Edmonton. As a Wiring Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the manufacturing process for various products and materials through electrical part installation. This is a safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical part installation, including relays, meters, switches, and other components.
  • Wiring, anchoring, tie-wrapping, routing, push buttons, flagging, and wire tagging.
  • Crimping and wire/cable stripping.
  • Promoting a safety culture and attending all safety meetings.
  • Ensuring quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hand, electric, air tools, and some vibrating tools.
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.
  • Ability to read prints, including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists, and part drawings.
  • Able to work effectively within the team and around other departments and their activities.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic ability performing mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.

Working Conditions

  • Safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
  • Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times and respirators when required.
  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders and scaffolding.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
  • Bending, standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.
