Position Title: Quality Inspector – Level 1
Overview: The Quality Inspector – Level 1 role, operating under direct supervision, is tasked with evaluating products and supporting quality assessments. This position is primarily responsible for testing and sampling raw materials and incoming products to ensure adherence to company standards. Additionally, the inspector will establish basic gauging or measuring setups to ensure labeling complies with both company and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial inspections, receiving inspections, and in-process evaluations.
- Perform product audits and LPA audits.
- Utilize manual gauging tools and operate CMM as necessary.
- Inspect incoming materials in accordance with receiving inspection protocols.
- Sort products based on visual guidelines.
- Complete all required documentation and forms.
- Understand TS processes for managing nonconforming materials, including identification and inspection protocols.
- Support both internal and external customers with additional assignments as needed.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, as well as environmental laws and procedures.
- Measure or weigh products to evaluate conformity to quality standards, requiring basic mathematical skills.
- Apply technical skills and knowledge to identify the root causes of quality issues.
- Utilize computer applications to monitor and report on quality metrics.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Prior experience in machining is preferred.
- Familiarity with statistical tools such as histograms, X and R charts, and Cpk is beneficial.
- Knowledge of TS-16949 requirements is considered an asset.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT).
- Proficient in using measuring instruments, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
