About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at TOTEM Recruteur de talent. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting a culture of health and safety within our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive health and safety program that meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with workplace hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and contractors.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders on health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining accurate records and reports as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, with certification in Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP Construction) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of Quebec labor laws and regulations.
  • Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a valid driver's license.
