Job Title: Merchandiser

We are seeking a skilled Merchandiser to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing merchandise for resale, maintaining adequate stock levels, and overseeing distribution to our outlets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, sales data, and supplier information.
  • Review requirements of our establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring it meets our quality and pricing standards.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers and provide guidance on sourcing and purchasing strategies.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
