Job Summary

We are seeking multiple full-time Educational Assistants to join our team at Vera M. Welsh Elementary School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs. If you are a compassionate and energetic individual who thrives in a team environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, promoting social and emotional growth
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
  • Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
