About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our Wealth Management Financial Control team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the financial control responsibilities for our Global Asset Management and RBC Indigo Asset Management Inc. businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accurate and complete financial and regulatory reporting for the GAM and Indigo businesses, including fee calculations, accruals, and cash settlements.
  • Design and implement robust control environments for monthly P&L close processes.
  • Review and analyze line of business monthly financial results and variances, providing meaningful analysis for accurate external reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to global policies and procedures for balance sheet reconciliations and attestations.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage best practices across regions, simplify or improve existing controls, and improve the sharing of business and financial information.
  • Lead and develop a team by providing coaching, clear direction, and expectations.
Requirements
  • CPA designation and/or Accounting designation.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial/management reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and concisely summarize complex issues.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial reporting under IFRS accounting standards and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and self-starter attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial Services industry experience with knowledge of the asset management industry.
  • PeopleSoft and EPM (IBM TM1) experience.
  • Knowledge of RBC legal entity/management structure.
