Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Hydrotechnical Engineer specializing in surface water assessments and mitigations for linear infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in supporting various projects and enhancing your professional skills under the mentorship of experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and leadership on projects.
  • Conduct technical analyses as necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare client reports, progress reports, and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Engage in project scoping and proposal preparation.
  • Support the mentoring and training of junior staff.
  • Actively participate in fieldwork as required by project needs.
  • Manage projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Travel to project sites and client offices as necessary.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geoscience with a hydrotechnical focus.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's license.
  • Experience with desktop and field-level scour and bank erosion assessments.
  • Familiarity with linear infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in commercial analytical software for assessing peak and seasonal flows.
  • Experience in completing flood frequency analysis (FFA) and climate monitoring.
  • Eng. status with APEGA and/or EGBC is an asset.
