The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer/Analyst to join our Mechanical and Civil Engineering Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing project engineering functions, including project design planning, project scheduling, and project risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform project engineering functions for design engineering projects, including development of task order quotations and proposals, project design planning, and project scheduling.
  • Interface with construction/procurement partners and utility stakeholders to provide practical and effective solutions.
  • Provide field support to multi-disciplined plant design modifications, including provision of field engineering.
  • Conduct technical assessments and emergent troubleshooting/engineering to support refurbishment projects and operating unit (capital) projects.
  • Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplined projects.
Requirements
  • Must have experience in a project-driven environment with the capability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and within project constraints (time, cost, quality).
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned work and to coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and to quality assurance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports, proposals, recommendations, and presentations for internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CANDU technology, strong understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation.
  • Past experience in one or more CANDU refurbishment projects.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including but not limited to CSA N285, ASME Section III, Section VIII, and B31.1.
  • Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control.
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards such as N299 and CSA N286.
  • A Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical or Structural/Civil Engineering is required.
  • Candidates are expected to have or to pursue attainment of the P.Eng. designation.
  • Good time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with and gain the trust of station customers.
  • A period of 2 to 4 years relevant experience is considered necessary.
