Role Summary

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

In this position, you will take charge of designing and executing performance assessments for both Mobile and Web applications. Collaborating closely with the development team, you will gain insights into the technologies involved and create/load, stress, and endurance tests to evaluate system performance. You will partner with project teams to formulate the Performance Test Strategy and related documentation, determining the scope, timeline, and sequence of testing activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive performance testing strategies for various projects. Specify the types of performance evaluations such as load, stress, failover, and endurance tests required for each initiative.
  • Collaborate with business and project teams to establish the workload model based on non-functional requirements.
  • Design performance testing scenarios and scripts derived from the workload model.
  • Conduct performance tests and oversee their execution.
  • Evaluate and present the outcomes of the performance tests.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes for storing test results, tracking defects, and verifying defects while supporting project metrics tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Technology, or a related field with over 8 years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or development.
  • Proficiency in analyzing non-functional requirements related to performance and security for both agile and non-agile projects.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with various performance testing frameworks/tools (e.g., MicroFocus LoadRunner, JMeter), load generators, and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and experience in at least one OOP language (e.g., Java, C#).
  • Proven experience in developing production workload models and coordinating test environments to conduct performance tests that closely mimic production conditions.
  • Experience in mapping performance testing environments to production environments.
  • Expertise in diagnostic processes and tools such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics in non-production settings to identify performance bottlenecks early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience in utilizing service virtualization for performance testing.
  • Familiarity with mobile performance testing tools and relevant protocols such as 'True Client' protocols.
  • Solid understanding of source control and proficiency with git commands.
  • Ability to analyze complex business ecosystems to comprehend business logic and processes, including data attributes and business rules.
  • Experience with software delivery methodologies, frameworks, and best practices (Agile and Iterative Waterfall) along with DevOps operations and integrating testing into the DevOps pipeline.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to focus, prioritize, and resolve complex technical challenges.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in configuring load generators while utilizing Performance Center.
  • Knowledge of the k6 tool.
  • Familiarity with Helios pipeline creation and GitHub actions.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and OpenShift architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of the banking business domain.
