Position Overview

Akhira Trucking INC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This role requires a strong background in diesel mechanics and a commitment to maintaining our fleet in optimal condition.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role
Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor apprentices in their development.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshooting of equipment to identify issues.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to assess faults and determine necessary repairs.
  • Manage parts ordering and maintain an organized inventory.
  • Make adjustments and repair or replace faulty components.
  • Document maintenance activities and keep accurate records.
  • Perform welding tasks as required.
  • Test machinery post-repair to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Attach and adjust components on new equipment.
  • Carry out cleaning, lubrication, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Execute repair work on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Service attachments and operational tools.
  • Inspect and repair emission control systems.
  • Support process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
