Job Summary:

The Child Care Worker Assistant will provide support to our early childhood educators in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 0-5 years. The successful candidate will assist in planning and implementing child-care programs, engaging children in activities, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or guardians.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Work setting: Child care centre.
  • Urban area.
