About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Civil and Water Lead to join our leadership team in Montreal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the growth of our Civil team's skills and strengthening our qualifications on major pursuits.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as bid manager on civil and water pursuits, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the growth of our Civil team's skills.
- Lead the technical input on civil and water proposals, providing expert advice and guidance to our clients.
- Develop and maintain strong technical civil and water skills in the field of liner infrastructure, surface water management, and storm water masterplans.
- Manage the technical delivery aspects of civil and water design and close out of projects, ensuring high-quality results and efficient delivery.
- Oversee the quality of work delivered by the Civil and Water Team, ensuring that all projects meet our high standards.
- Mentor staff to develop future leaders, develop team member skill sets, and promote learning from successes and challenges within the group.
- Promote collaboration with other disciplines and market groups within Arup locally, regionally, and globally, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
- Build relationships with current and future key clients and partners, fostering healthy long-term relationships and driving business growth.
- Achieve successful commercial delivery of the projects or portions of projects being delivered by the Civil and Water team, ensuring strong technical delivery and efficient close-out.
- Proactively engage with clients and contractors to prepare high-quality, technically efficient, and cost-effective project solutions.
- Foster a culture and execute processes that achieve quality outcomes, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional P.Eng/OIQ certification.
- 12+ years' experience in the design and management of projects with emphasis on civil, utilities, and water.
- 5 years' experience in leading and managing a team of engineers.
- Business development experience.
- Strong technical proposal writing experience.
- Commercial/finance awareness and ability to develop fee proposal.
- The ability to prioritize effectively, manage deadlines, and communicate complex ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Effective presentation skills, with colleagues and clients of all levels.
