Position Overview

Are you dedicated to the field of nursing? We invite you to consider a rewarding opportunity as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse who is committed to providing empathetic patient care to become a part of our Primary Care team.

In alignment with Northern Health's vision for an optimized healthcare system, we aim to deliver primary care services within Primary Care Homes, supported by collaborative interprofessional teams. The Clinical Nurse Specialist adheres to the professional standards and ethical guidelines established by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

This role involves functioning as an integral member of the interprofessional team, utilizing best practices to ensure competent, safe, and ethical care for individuals and families in various environments, including clinics, residences, educational institutions, and community settings.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will deliver care that encompasses clinical follow-up in accordance with the individual’s Primary Care Plan and personal health objectives, contributing to care plans developed in partnership with the interprofessional team.

Primary Care Networks represent collaborations between Divisions of Family Practice, regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and local community partners, alongside other healthcare providers such as nurse practitioners.

All stakeholders are working collaboratively within their communities to enhance the primary and community care system, ensuring it is more effective for both patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications Required
  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN.
  • A minimum of three years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience in primary care and/or chronic disease management, including experience in patient education.
  • A valid driver's license.
