About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety orientations, job site inspections, and onsite first aid assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Monitor employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols.
- Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations, and take corrective action to address them.
- Review and file subcontractors' safety submittals, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Compile and analyze health and safety statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with site staff to maintain a safety-first culture and promote a culture of safety awareness.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety role on institutional, commercial, and residential construction projects.
- Valid OFA L3 certificate (or ability to obtain).
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset.
- Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset.
- Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset.
- Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
