Position Overview

The projects within the Eastern Canada District encompass a range of significant undertakings, including highways, bridges, mass transit systems, and various industrial developments. Our focus is on delivering high-quality services to the construction and mining sectors throughout the region.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee quality assurance for civil engineering projects.
  • Develop comprehensive quality management plans, inspection protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure alignment with project quality standards and timelines.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet specified plans, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Quality Management System and associated documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications as outlined in project documentation.
  • Align quality control initiatives with construction methodologies to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Engage with stakeholders to address and resolve quality-related issues and concerns.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding quality specifications and project updates.
  • Prepare and analyze quality reports and performance metrics.
  • Conduct evaluations to identify deviations from established quality standards.
  • Issue notifications for non-compliance and recommend corrective measures.
  • Review documentation such as logs and test reports to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Assess staffing needs and participate in the recruitment and training of quality personnel.
  • Supervise quality staff, manage schedules, and assign responsibilities.
  • Implement training programs focused on quality assurance practices.
  • Analyze operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Suggest enhancements to existing quality standards to optimize outcomes.
  • Support other projects in the application of the company's quality assurance framework.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in quality management within the civil construction sector.
  • Proven experience in QA/QC roles on large-scale projects, particularly in infrastructure and heavy industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of quality inspectors.
  • Strong commitment to excellence and proactive problem-solving.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity in all professional dealings.
  • Passionate about safety and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
