About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Health Centre Coordinator to join our Healthy Communities Public Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and community partners to provide leadership, informal assessment, and support for youth associated with the assigned school facility and its immediate community.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in health promotion, community development, and youth engagement, with a proven track record of creating opportunities for meaningful youth engagement and fostering youth leadership. They will also have a demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of health, health equity, and the impact on health outcomes for youth, families, and communities.

The Youth Health Centre Coordinator will work within the Public Health Standards and Protocols and a Health Promoting Schools Approach, guided by the Public Health, Health Promoting Schools Standards. They will provide leadership, informal assessment, service navigation, youth engagement, and support for youth associated with the assigned school facility and its immediate community.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in a relevant health care discipline, with a minimum of three years' experience in a relevant field. They will also have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
