About the Role
Cyient Inc. is seeking an experienced Pole Line Engineer with a Professional Engineer License to join our team in Toronto, ON, Canada. As a Pole Line Engineer, you will be responsible for performing pole loading calculations using Spidacalc and Quickpole, creating permit drawings using AutoCAD, and conducting research to develop and complete pole line designs to support FTTH projects, BAU, and relocation, and MDU projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pole loading calculations using Spidacalc and Quickpole.
- Create permit drawings using AutoCAD.
- Conduct research to develop and complete pole line designs.
- Work with Aerial Communications line & poles inspections or design using CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2), 5G/Smart City high-level designs.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ensure compliance with permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.).
Requirements
- Must be a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Experience in the civil, structural, mechanical engineering/construction, architecture (desired), and telecommunications industry (strongly desired).
- Expertise in Quickpole, SpidaCalc, OCalc, PLS CAD is required.
- Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2), 5G/Smart City high-level designs is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) is highly desired.
