About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team at THE FOUNDATION GROUP INC. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and achieve the desired density.
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, and instruct apprentices in the process.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to ensure structural integrity.
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and extend the lifespan of concrete structures.
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain quality and appearance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure compliance.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license to transport equipment and materials.
  • Physically demanding role requiring handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and sound discrimination to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to instruct apprentices and collaborate with team members.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Dependability and reliability to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the field of cement finishing and concrete construction.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
Language

The primary language of communication for this role is English.
