Position: Culinary Specialist for Care Home
Salary: £27,533 (£13.20 per hour)
We are looking for a skilled Culinary Specialist to enhance our catering services at a prestigious care facility.
Role Overview: Collaborating closely with the Chef Manager, you will be tasked with providing outstanding meal services for a community of up to 68 residents. Our culinary offerings are prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients. While familiarity with special dietary needs and IDDSI standards is advantageous, we offer comprehensive training for those who may not have this background.
Work Schedule:
4 days a week, totaling 40 hours
Working Hours: 07:30 - 17:30
Enjoy every other weekend off
Ideal Candidate: You should possess experience in a care home environment or be a seasoned chef seeking a more balanced work-life arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious and high-quality meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Oversee catering assistants during shifts
- Ensure adherence to food safety and health & safety regulations
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- NVQ/C&G/SVQ in Catering
- Experience with fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Understanding of health & safety legislation, including COSHH and HACCP
- Demonstrated experience in a similar culinary environment
- Awareness of dietary needs for elderly individuals
- Knowledge of IDDSI (training available if necessary)
- Experience in baking and cake preparation
