Position Overview

Calian Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our client's project. This multifaceted position requires expertise in designing scalable and efficient software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of software architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and evaluating technologies to meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Software Architectures: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance software architectures.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust architectural solutions.
  3. Evaluate Technologies: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to meet project objectives.
  4. Provide DSEEP Services: Provide DSEEP (Data Science, Engineering, Evaluation, and Planning) services to enhance system capabilities.
  5. Lead Training System Concept Development: Lead Training System Concept Development and contribute to Training System Requirement Derivation.
  6. Oversee Training System Development: Oversee Training System Development, ensuring the use of best practices and adherence to architectural guidelines.
  7. Conduct Training System Effectiveness Assessment: Conduct Training System Effectiveness Assessment to continually enhance performance.
  8. Work on TIES: Work on TIES (Training and Interactive Educational Systems) to create immersive and effective learning experiences.
  9. Define and Enforce Coding Standards: Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development processes.
  10. Provide Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team.
  11. Conduct Architectural Reviews: Conduct architectural reviews and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.
Requirements
  1. Must currently hold or be eligible for Secret – Level II (or higher) Clearance with the Government of Canada.
  2. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in an applicable field of software development.
  3. Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in the last five (5) years performing the role of a Software Architect designing, developing, and deploying software systems.
  4. Must have experience designing, developing, and deploying software systems.
  5. Must have experience deriving functional requirements in a Software Architecture system.
  6. Must have experience designing complex software systems, including software and IT architecture, in multiple Project Taskings.
  7. Must have experience developing complex software systems, encompassing both software and IT architecture, in multiple Project Taskings.
  8. Must have experience working in both Microsoft and Unix operating system environments.
  9. Must have experience integrating and testing software within a Software Architecture system.
  10. Must have experience generating, updating, and maintaining software design documentation.
  11. Must have experience determining and implementing IT infrastructure.
