About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geological Technician to join our team at Azure Group Inc. as part of our ongoing efforts to support the growth and development of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in environmental audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic, or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging, or underground mine survey programs.
  • Direct and supervise surveys or survey programs to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing and record systems, to ensure efficient data management.
  • Conduct physical and chemical laboratory tests to analyze and interpret data.
  • Supervise oil and gas well drilling, well completions, and work-overs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross sections to document findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in hydrogeological field and laboratory studies to understand and mitigate environmental impacts.
Requirements
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation equipment.
  • MS Office skills.
  • Experience with mapping and surveying, geological sampling analysis, geochemical sampling analysis, and geotechnical studies.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate data, conduct environmental monitoring, and perform field sampling and data acquisition.
  • Geological mapping and quality assurance and control skills.
  • Regulatory investigation and hydrographic surveying experience.
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge, particularly in the green economy sector.
  • Geology and hydrographic survey specialization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and attention to detail.
  • Hand-eye coordination, ability to distinguish between colors, and physical stamina for standing and walking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Judgment, reliability, and a team player attitude.
