Job Summary:
The Registered Pharmacy Technician will work under the general direction of the Designated Pharmacy Manager to ensure that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, and timely.
- Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with the pharmacy management team on unresolved issues.
- Provide exceptional customer care to LTC homes and retirement communities.
- Communicate with the resident care team while maintaining professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and organized resident health records.
- Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and support for new and existing pharmacy team members.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education.
- Prepare and compound medications as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT).
- Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with healthcare team members.
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Kroll and Point Click Care (PCC).
- Experience with Med e-care.
- Experience with PACMed/PACVision.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of provincial regulations governing LTC homes and Retirement Communities.
