Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our financial operations and accounting policy functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring financial, accounting, and accountability operations for research, trust, and endowment funds across the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in designing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements and mitigate related risks.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports for research, trust, and endowment funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with faculties, researchers, and senior managers to identify and recommend innovative solutions to financial challenges.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between Financial Resources and the University community to ensure consistent and rigorous management of research, trust, and endowment section activities.
  • Compile and submit reports in accordance with accounting standards and guidelines.
  • Enforce strict standards for the integrity and accuracy of endowment funds, ensuring compliance with Policy 111.
  • Provide leadership in managing endowed funds and usable funding to meet the University's financial aid requirements while ensuring long-term viability.
  • Design, review, and promote financial policies and procedures related to trusts and research activities to ensure accurate meeting of funding agency requirements.
Requirements
  • 10 years' experience in the education sector or a large business, including at least 6 years in a financial management position.
  • Experience in managing human resources and leading a team.
  • Experience in short-, medium-, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Experience in using major financial software and computer programs.
  • Organizational skills, including time management, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
