Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive care and coordinate follow-up to children to maximize their occupational performance and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply clinical expertise of pediatric disease processes and related complex medical and surgical conditions to provide evidence-based occupational therapy practice
  • Liaise and communicate with team members to facilitate and coordinate community services and supports
  • Work with pediatric surgical, GI, and complex care populations and their families in the inpatient setting
  • Cross-cover for other inpatient units within McMaster Children's hospital as needed
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Graduate of an approved School of Occupational Therapy
  • Relevant experience, knowledge, and clinical skills in the provision of evidence-based occupational therapy practice in the management of infants, children, adolescents, and their families
  • Minimum of three (3) years' recent, relevant clinical experience in a tertiary pediatric setting
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment, evaluation, and treatment with pediatric surgical patients
  • Experience with pediatric feeding and swallowing assessment and treatment preferred
