Math and Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Math and Science Teacher/Tutor to join our team at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. in Sherwood Park, AB.

About the Role

This part-time position involves working with students in a learning centre setting, providing guidance and support in math and science subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math and science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students of various skill levels.

Responsibilities
  • Teach math and science subjects to students in a one-on-one or small group setting
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve teaching skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field (e.g. math, science, education)
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum
  • Experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with multiple students at a time
