We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Program Manager to lead our MTO project team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and control the execution of all project functions, including business, technical, fiscal, and administrative tasks.
- Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key stakeholders after careful assessment of their qualifications and strengths.
- Manage a team of professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to ensure successful project execution.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with MTO and key subcontractors.
- Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with MTO and regions/municipalities.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
- Oversee the establishment of project execution plans, health and safety plans, quality assurance/quality control plans, and other required documents.
- Establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
- Provide direction and management for every phase of significant projects or programs to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Mobilize company resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
- Discuss qualifications required of key project positions in detail with profit center and department managers.
- Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
- Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for project elements.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed goals established in plans.
- Work with key project individuals to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
- Advise clients and company management of any changes.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of quality assurance processes.
- Monitor and report to management on project progress, including significant milestones, and any conditions affecting project cost or schedule.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
- ~15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience
- ~Significant managerial experience of a large group of engineers, designers, and technical support personnel
- ~Experience with more than one MTO region is an asset
- ~Proven ability to manage a large group of engineering/technical personnel
- ~Prior experience must include significant project management assignments
- ~Experience should also include operations management of personnel and facilities
- ~Relocation to the job site may be required
- ~Directing work involving complex technical situations
- ~Thorough knowledge of current technology and capabilities of specific engineering software
