Senior Payroll and Dayforce Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll and Dayforce Automator to join our team at Mobis Parts Canada Corporation. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for leading our payroll and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and implementing efficient automation processes using Dayforce.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement payroll and benefits strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee the classification and rating of occupations for compensation purposes, ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Pay Equity Act.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, including designing, planning, and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the payroll process with other departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
- Liaise with vendors and external parties to acquire and coordinate services, including wellness and benefit programs.
- Advise on assigned payroll activities and program components, ensuring effective department functioning and compliance with established financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
- Develop and implement automated fiscal systems to analyze, maintain, and provide information regarding assigned funds.
- Reconcile account balances, ensuring accurate account balances and compliance with related policies, practices, and regulations.
- Research discrepancies in payroll information and documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
- Communicate with internal and external parties, including government agencies and personnel, to ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions and garnishments.
- Respond to inquiries and provide information and direction as needed.
- A degree in a field such as Payroll, Accounting, or a related field.
- PCM and CHRP designation preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of working experience in Payroll, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience with Dayforce Automation.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management.
- Advanced proficiency with Dayforce accounting software and payroll programs and applications.
- Knowledge of audits, income tax forms, car lease programs, health benefits programs, sick pay, retirement plans, and other related areas.
- Good knowledge of accounting, general/bought/sales ledger, journal entries, and bookkeeping experience.
- Ability to prepare ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel.
- A flexible team player with a proven ability to work successfully in a matrix reporting environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of change management and ability to develop and implement strategies.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
- Interacts with management, colleagues, visitors, government agencies/personnel.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations/meetings.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
