Key Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a backup for the Bakery Quality Manager, ensuring leadership and coverage for Quality Technicians as needed, including addressing customer feedback.
  2. Conduct shelf-life assessments on products in accordance with established protocols.
  3. Perform daily inspections and document findings, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with the Bakery Quality Manager.
  4. Assist in the creation and delivery of quality training programs alongside the Bakery Quality Manager, ensuring all bakery employees are well-versed in quality standards.
  5. Oversee the verification and documentation of product specifications.
  6. Inspect incoming raw materials, processes, and finished goods to confirm adherence to quality benchmarks.
  7. Ensure accurate labeling, production codes, and best-before dates on products.
  8. Conduct sampling of the production environment, equipment, water, raw materials, and finished products for microbiological and analytical evaluations.
  9. Support trial runs and initial production approvals in alignment with Stage Gate protocols.
  10. Manage product or ingredient control and make necessary dispositions.
  11. Assist in maintaining all quality programs at the site level.
  12. Participate in and support internal, third-party, and regulatory audits.
  13. Identify and report any non-conformance issues, supporting the Bakery Quality Manager with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  14. Conduct inspections related to glass and brittle plastics, pest control, and overall facility conditions.
  15. Support the Bakery Quality Manager with data measurements and consumer complaint investigations.
  16. Document and report analytical test results for each production line, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  17. Complete shift reports and audit documentation as required.
  18. Review and file certificates of analysis.
  19. Issue reports for non-conformance regarding incoming ingredients or deviations.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
  1. Flexibility to work rotational shifts and weekends as required by the business.
  2. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing sector.
  4. Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
  5. Strong understanding of food safety programs (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality Systems.
