Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our team at our learning centre. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about teaching and are eager to assist students in enhancing their skills in language and mathematics.
As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will benefit from our structured lesson plans, allowing you to focus on engaging with students rather than preparing materials. Comprehensive training in our unique educational approach will be provided.
Position Requirements:
All Teacher-Tutors are expected to work during after-school hours, typically from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue during the summer months. Reliability is essential, as your students will look forward to their sessions with you.
This is an in-person role, and candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. Background checks are a requirement for this position.
We encourage applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:
Education:
- College or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience will also be considered
- Teaching certification is a plus
- Familiarity with the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum
Experience:
- Previous experience in teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 9 level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as an Interactive Coach with the following duties:
- Instructing up to three students at varying levels
- Delivering lessons both online and in-person
- Adhering to the Oxford Learning methodologies
- Documenting post-lesson reflections
- Providing daily updates on student progress
- Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times
