Job Title: Household Cleaner

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Household Cleaner to join our team at Naveen Batish. As a Household Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our client's home.

Responsibilities:
  • Household Cleaning: Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture, make beds and change sheets, stock linen closet, clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, pick up debris and empty trash containers, launder clothing and household linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, wash windows, walls and ceilings.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Youth: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment, offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth, provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations, provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers, facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Non-smoking.
  • Work Setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
