Position Overview

The Youth Support and Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a secure and nurturing atmosphere for young individuals to participate in initiatives aimed at mitigating the effects of criminal behavior, as delineated in the Building Safer Communities Fund.

The Community Social Development Department of the City of Lethbridge is in search of two dedicated professionals who exemplify integrity and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding public service.

In collaboration with local law enforcement, the Coordinator will manage all facets of service delivery, encompassing intake procedures, admission processes, development of case plans, evaluation of progress, and referrals to suitable resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of cases involving at-risk youth
  • Conduct necessary assessments in line with established case plans
  • Create tailored service plans that address diverse needs
  • Offer support to parents or guardians as required
  • Monitor, assess, and document all changes in youth behavior
  • Ensure accuracy in all documentation and client progress records
  • Advocate for the interests of the youth
  • Facilitate and support Case Conferences with the youth's support network as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a results-driven, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in strategic social and health service case management
  • Knowledgeable in youth care methodologies and trauma-informed practices
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage

The selected candidate will be required to undergo Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
