Position Overview:

As a vital member of the leadership team, this role is dedicated to ensuring that the quality of resident care consistently surpasses established standards and expectations. This position plays a key role in supporting the home's Infection Prevention and Control program (IPAC) and managing all facets of resident admissions, which includes effective communication with residents and their families throughout the admission journey.

In addition, this role oversees and coordinates the RAI MDS processes in alignment with MOHLTC regulations, actively monitoring and guiding staff to ensure data accuracy while implementing corrective measures when necessary. The position also provides essential leadership to staff teams, fostering the application of best practice methodologies in resident care.

Employment Criteria:

  • Ideal candidates will be Registered Practical Nurses in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario, with a preference for those possessing a minimum of 2 years' experience in Long-Term Care or Acute Care settings.
  • Experience in quality improvement and adult education is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of epidemiological principles, statistics, and microbiology, along with the ability to apply this knowledge in clinical settings, is a significant asset.
  • Candidates must exhibit strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to educate and support team members.
  • Flexibility to work across all three shifts is essential, including participation in the home's on-call leader rotation.
  • Membership in the National Infection Control Association (IPAC Canada) is a plus, and current CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent position, requiring 37.5 hours per week.
